"St. Benedict's" is the third digital painting in a series that I was commissioned to create for Morgan Stanley Smith Barney in Terre Haute, Indiana.  Each piece will include a historic building from the Terre Haute area and is printed on quality matte art paper.
 
Founded in 1865, St. Benedict’s Catholic Church is a long standing icon of the community. Due to a growing congregation, the original church building was expanded to an impressive structure which included bell towers and a stately dome topped by a statue of an archangel.  A massive fire destroyed the dome and a large portion of the church in 1930, leaving the statue of the archangel embedded in the basement floor of the church.  Only portions of the structure were salvageable, including the bell towers which stand to this day. 
 
A new piece will be release each year for a total of 8 - 10 images.  A nice gift for the history buff or anyone who has great memories of Terre Haute, Indiana.  Start your collection today!
